They sailed to England because it was better than where they came from – their ancestors had let them down by building a society based on violence. All humans strive for better, it has always been so. They were prepared to travel long distances, cross dangerous seas and endure discomfort for the opportunity to claim what did not belong to them.
The word Viking came from Old Norse and means freebooter, sea-rover, and pirate.
Eventually, they sent for their families and kinsfolk and settled on the land they had conquered. This land become known as Dane Land. Pockets of Scandinavia across Northern England grew until it occupied approximately half of England.
England was seen as rich and plentiful, as well as, weak and pathetic. Our religion preached tolerance and forgiveness, theirs preached strength over weakness. Our communities focused on producing food, as well as manufacturing goods and some services. We were attempting to create a better tomorrow based on trade, cooperation and the rule of law.
Taking what does not belong to you can be a short-term fix for your needs, desires and wants. But it makes you vulnerable and dependent on others to produce what you need to survive.
“Let a man steal a fish and he feeds himself for a day. Teach him how to fish and he feeds himself for a lifetime.” - Chinese proverb (bastardised by me)
Are we witnessing today a new breed of Vikings from Africa and Asia? Warrior men sailing to England to plunder, rape and murder the inhabitants because they are seen as weak, unprotected and affluent. It feels similar. The barbarity looks the same, even if we are not at the same level yet.
They have already set up mini homelands in our cities and filled them with their family and kinsfolk. The languages, religions, customs and traditions of these areas have been imported from ancestral homelands.
English men have become overly feminised so they have forgotten what drives the behaviour of most men in the world. Increasing personal status. Acquiring resources and wealth. Attracting women. Creating a legacy and producing children.
Men should not care about being popular online, being in touch with their feminine side, or understanding the importance of gender identity. These are the distractions that weak men use to stop them from embracing masculinity and personal responsibility.
The vast majority of non-Western men do not value diversity, tolerance, compassion or equality. These feminine traits may lead to social cohesion in the short term but do not offer security, resources, or long term stability.
A successful society must learn to walk the fine line between masculinity and feminity. A balance must be achieved otherwise you end up with pathetic weak men or the abusive men of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
When Vikings first appeared on our shores we were in shock for they desecrated churches in search of gold and silver. The depravity and violence were reported across the land and solutions were sought on how to stop these devils. It was obvious they did not act like us, think like us, behave like us, or respect the same things as us. They were different from us. We knew this to be true.
If we have a new wave of Vikings arriving on our shores then what can we learn from history and our victory over these original violent chancers?
The first thing we must acknowledge is that the kingdoms of England never felt sorry for the Vikings. No one picked up Vikings at sea and ferried them to our island. Once here, we never offered them accommodation, money, food and other services they could not acquire in their homeland.
We built effective defences, created trained soldiers and military tactics, and demanded leaders who would save us from the evil horde. It took 250 years to end the terror of the Vikings with victory at the battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066. Can we wait for another 175 years before we end the current invasion?
Once we close our borders and deport the millions who are here illegally, the question of the New Dane Lands will need addressing. The idea that we will deport individuals who have lived here peacefully for 50 years is a non-starter, even more so for those who were born here.
The complete integration of these lands into wider England must take place and then the full assimilation of these people into the English identity. There can be no more English-Asian, English-Hindu, or English-Caribbean. Only English people. They may have different skin tones and attend different buildings to pray but none of this is anyone else’s concern.
The Vikings became English over time. They gave up their ancestral identity to blend in with the culture of a land they never should have invaded. This kept the long-term peace and ensured survival when the next round of sectarian violence swept the land.
We have enough Vikings series on TV at the moment. Let us try to understand some of the lessons of this part of our history.
One people. One country. One Monarch. One flag. One language. One history. One culture. One England.

Quite simply:
Strong men = good times
Weak men = bad times
I’m reminded of a trip I made to Marshall Tito’s mausoleum in Belgrade.
Tito was a strong man & Yugoslavia prospered immensely.
Whilst there I observed a young family who cannot even have been born before Tito died in 1980.
They came to pay their respects to a man who presumably gave their parents a better life than could have ever hoped for without him?
Who will remember David Lammy, or Grant Shapps or Ed Davey in 40 years time?
It’s the difference between civil service & self service.
