Great article, Nick 👍 I volunteered at homeless charity, Archer Project, for 15 months several years ago. I served the breakfast each morning before starting my day job. It was a very enlightening and eye opening experience. I saw firsthand some of the things you describe. It's very refreshing to me to hear such directness on the subject because in my shortlived experience it appears to be an heavily politicized area. I am really looking forward to learning more through your book (it finally turned up from Amazon very recently - my wife has bought it me for Christmas). Really looking forward to begining reading it on Christmas day🎄🎅 👍
My Amazon review just submitted (the site said it may take up to seven days to be included, so posting here until it goes live). Nick's cancellation experience first came to my attention online, shortly after the actual event. Inspired by Nick's story, I joined the Free Speech Union (who are a fantastic organisation), followed him on "Locals" and have eagerly anticipated this book ever since he anounced it's conception. I have to say, I was not disappointed. It is so insightful to gain a fuller understanding of the complex issues which can cause homelesseness and what can be done practically to address it at source with the correct political will. Furthermore, I found it very inspiring reading the practical steps we can take to bring about the incremental improvements to our strength of character. Lastly, I really enjoyed the subtle humour, linking "The Stone Roses" and "Ressurrection", and the "St George in retirement" concept - honestly not heard that analogy before and will be stealing it for future conversations. I read this book with 24 hours of receiving it has a gift on Christmas day - I very rarely read books that quick but it was so hard to put down - I enjoyed it that much. Honestly, one of the best books I have read in a long time. I highly recommend. 10/10. 👌👍
