Who Are The Real Misogynists?
I dislike the word misogyny. It is a silly word for it is meaningless in the real world. Men do not hate women – this is a fact.
This word was coined in the middle of the 17th century and is created from the Greek root word for woman with the prefix miso meaning hatred. Hence the definition of the word is 'a hatred of women'.
In 2002, The Oxford English Dictionary revised its definition and changed it from "hatred of women" to "hatred or dislike of, or prejudice against women". Everything now can be misogynistic – and it is!
Several months ago, to investigate the understanding of this word within the general public I tweeted 'misogyny does not exist' and waited for replies. I received lots, many from people I know who are sensible. They nearly all disagreed with me. I asked them for evidence of its existence - the messages I received surprised me. They were all examples of women being victimised by men, such as the Taliban, witch-burning, sexual assault, and even serial killers.
These are all horrendous crimes against women, but crime does not equate to misogyny. The Taliban do not hate women, in their backwards culture they are protecting women, not persecuting them. During the medieval witch-burning trials, 25% of victims were men, women obviously had a higher death count but it was not just aimed at women. Sexual assault is driven by animalistic lust, not hatred. Serial killers are complex individuals, and to blame their crimes on misogyny is unfounded. According to the FBI, only 70% of victims are women, and 15% of serial killers are female. Bad things happen to women, just like they do to men.
Social media is often highlighted as a cesspit of hate against women, which it is – but it is also a cesspit of hate for everyone else. In a Demos research project in 2016 analysing UK Twitter posts aimed at women, they found that 50 per cent of hate came from other women. In 2014, Demos analysed 2 million tweets that revealed male public figures were several times more likely than women to receive abuse. Social media is a negative place for almost everyone, but women do not have it worse.
What do social scientists say about misogyny?
According to the work of Dunham, Baron & Banaji (2016): 'The Development Of Implicit Gender Attitudes', found that boys and men had "no negative association with female whatsoever". From adolescence, males reported stronger positive attitude towards females compare to their own sex. The results in girls and women were "robustly pro-female" — strongly positive towards females and strongly negative towards males. This stance increased with the age of the women.
Earlier research by Eagly & Mladinic (1989) and Eagly, Mladinic & Otto (1991), showed that adult males and females both have more positive attitudes towards females than towards males.
Rudman & Goodwin (2004) concluded that women "…. alone possess a cognitive mechanism that promotes own group preference". Data from Maddux & Brewer (2005) showed that, unlike a woman, a man sees both sexes as the same in terms of being a member of a group, such as a workplace or a university.
Vogel (2007) found that the woman partner in a relationship has complete charge of it and that "wives behaviourally exhibited more domineering attempts and were more dominant than husbands during discussions of either spouse's topic". This confirmed the work of Coleman & Straus (1986) who found that the woman is the controlling partner in 90% of couples.
There is scant evidence for misogyny in gender attitudes research, yet there is clear evidence against it. No credible social scientists have found any inherent hatred of women by men. Men favour females more than they do other men, this trait is the opposite for women for they favour other women.
"Women have very little idea of how much men hate them." - Germaine Greer, The Female Eunuch published in 1970.
This statement is not valid, there is no evidence backing it up, but it captures the essence of much of the feminist movement. 'They hate us, so we must hate them.' A nonsensical life strategy that continues to damage women today.
So, who are the people that really hate women?
This is easy to answer for these people are called feminists. This may sound silly but allow me to explain further with a series of questions for you to ponder.
Who looks upon motherhood with disdain?
Who tricked women into prioritising their careers and working like a dog?
Who lied that women can have, do and be everything they desire?
Who lied to women that they can be obese and still be healthy, happy and attractive?
Who lied to women that they could 'sleep around' just like men with no negative consequences?
Who has been behind all the social policies since the 1960s that have led to female happiness declining every decade?
Who are behind the trans movement that allows men to access female-only spaces?
The answer to all questions is the same: feminists. Not all feminists for you can always find an exception, but the majority of this brainwashing cult is responsible.
Imagine if the answer had been 'men'? This would have been concrete evidence that men hate women and therefore the case for misogyny would have been proven. So, is it not logical that feminism hates women? Have they not spent the last 70 years damaging the lives of women?
Feminism states that male characteristics are toxic, while at the same time encouraging women to take on more of these characteristics. They are told to be more like men, told to play male sports, and pushed into male-dominated careers. Feminists crave to be more like men for they hate who they are - these are the real haters of the female sex. They see being female as an inferior version of male, as a child is seen as an inferior version of an adult. The caterpillar wishes to be a butterfly.
It is not a surprise that women are becoming more unhappy as feminist ideology shapes society and our lives. This movement is not about improving the lives of women, only the lives of other feminists in the short term.
It is about placating the insecurities of a small group of entitled women in a first-world setting. It should come as no surprise that they are supported by weak men who see allyship as a way of gaining access to potential mates.
Women are amazing - they do not need to be more like men for they are already perfect. They are the creators of life which is a gift they share with the gods. Women are semi-divine. This is why since the beginning of time men have protected and provided for women and their offspring - women are more valuable than men and men know it to be true.
The biggest insult thrown at men is that they hate women, nothing could be further from the truth.
