I love women. The four people I love the most in the world are all female. I even married one. I want the best for them as individuals and as a group. This is why I speak about issues that affect them, and because of this, I get myself into trouble with feminists. I offer advice so they can win their fight to keep single-sex spaces. I try to show them where they are going wrong in their fight against trans lunacy. And what they need to do to stop a tiny number of men from encroaching into female-only spaces. Yes, I know I am mansplaining, but I do not care. My attempt to help may not go down well if you see the number of times I am called a misogynist. Social media is not conducive to an in-depth discussion for people tend to read what they think you mean, not what you actually say. So a long-form article is needed – here it is.
The trans issue is tearing the so-called 'sisterhood' apart and I for one am glad. This self-serving identity group has persecuted men all my life, while at the same time making women more unhappy. The sisterhood is toxic. Feminism is toxic.
For the first time since the early 1970s, women have a real problem that needs addressing and some are losing their collective minds over it. Female single-sex spaces were created to protect women from a very small group of perverted, dangerous men. This makes sense because men are much stronger than women, it is called biology.
Male single-sex spaces were never about physical safety, but about mental health, men need places to go to be men. Unfortunately, women destroyed these spaces in the name of equality and diversity. Men did not put up much of a fuss because they are programmed to look after the tribe and everyone in it. Men allowed women to take away their sanctuaries to the cries of 'equality' and 'down with the patriarchy'.
History shows that every new weapon or strategy developed will eventually be appropriated by your enemy and used against you. This is where we are today with some men wanting to use women-only spaces. When I say men, I mean trans-women, who are biological men.
It was wrong when women took away men's spaces, and it is wrong today that women are losing their spaces. Two wrongs do not make a right.
For over a hundred years, but especially since the 1960s, feminism has demonised men for every problem or hardship. They conveniently ignore all the men who improved the world with inventions, medicines and technology. Ungratefulness is a feminist trait. When any problem arises they automatically look at how it can be the fault of men.
The trans issue is complicated. I will not explore this topic here, I have written several articles on the subject – check them out. But suffice to say, men should not be using female-only spaces. So why are they?
The simple answer is that they were invited to use them by other women. These women are also known as progressive feminists. You cannot blame a guest for attending an event if he was invited - the issue is not the guest, but the invitation.
In a nutshell, this issue was created by females and the solution must come from females. The problem is not really trans-women, but the ideological civil war within feminism. 'Feminists who hate men so much that they would rather men pretend to be women' versus 'feminists who hate men so much that nothing else matters'.
Let me clarify that when I use the word feminist I do not mean the word woman. Only a small number of women classify themselves as feminists, the majority do not. Some weak pathetic men also call themselves feminists, it is not a female-only classification. If you think that feminism simply means equality, then you need to listen to some feminists and hear what they say.
"I've always been a liberation feminist. I'm not an equality feminist." - Germaine Greer, 2015
What should women do to protect their spaces?
- create a new battle plan
- push out the feminists from the movement
- apply political pressure
- push a strong narrative that highlights the danger
Women need to stop using the tried and tested feminist battle plan of man blaming. It will not work on this occasion because the opposing trench is full of other women. This war will be won when enough women say they will not put up with losing their single-sex spaces. It is a numbers game. Women need to recruit more and more women into this cause. Not through feminist confrontation, but education and the promotion of common sense. A tipping point will be reached and this nonsense will end quickly.
There are always causalities in war. Women need to appreciate this fact and be willing to take a direct hit, metaphorically speaking. Moaning will not change anything. What would happen if female athletes just said no to trans-women competing next to them? What if female athletes refused to compete in any competition where a trans-woman was involved? The governing bodies of these sports would have to change their policies. But some female athletes would have to take a bullet for the team. Are they willing? It does not look like it at the moment.
I see a danger that could derail the aim to recruit more sensible women into this movement. They are called radical feminists and are openly operating within the ranks. They may be small in number but they are vocal and passionate, we all know that hate is a powerful motivator. Why would any movement want the originators of their problem in their ranks to fight the war? I have said that this issue is a civil war within feminism. It is like trying to pick an ally between Hitler and Stalin – you want neither.
Most men secretly despise feminists and the majority of women are not in favour of the movement either. So why accommodate a fifth column? Every time a feminist speaks publicly, the movement loses support and credibility. I know this to be true because of the people I have spoken to and how I personally feel when I hear their rhetoric. If your cause is just, and this one is, you do not need divisive people in your ranks.
Let me give you a clear example of the feminist poison. The single-sex spaces movement keeps evoking the spirit of the suffragettes as if this is a good thing. They have co-opted the suffragettes' colours of purple, white and green. Why? The suffragettes were violent terrorists who did not win the right to vote for women, this is a myth created by feminists. In fact, they hindered the suffrage movement according to many historians. They committed murder and ran a campaign of terror that injured people with bombs. These are not the sort of examples a peaceful movement wants as inspiration. Emmeline Pankhurst declared their fight was "guerrilla warfare" and their aim was "to make England and every department of English life insecure and unsafe". A much more appropriate hero is Millicent Fawcett. She led the real suffrage movement known as suffragists, these are the heroes to look to for inspiration. The Pankhursts were terrorists - the IRA copied their tactics many decades later.
We live in a democracy and we all have the vote, thanks to Millicent, so we must use it. This is where the real power lies in changing what you do not like in the UK. Politicians want votes, that is all they care about. They will do anything to attract them, it is all they crave. Women are 51% of the population so have tremendous power. They must learn how to wield it. All the major political parties are weak on the issue of female-only spaces, some are weaker than others. Some politicians say that women can have a penis because they believe it will gain votes. If women mobilise and show politicians this belief will cost them votes, others will fall into line. This is beginning to happen.
We are all drawn to a good story, this is how we learn as children or entertain ourselves as adults. A cause needs a good narrative, but it has to be the right story to foster the right emotion and interest. The story for this movement is obvious – the safety of women and girls. This taps into our instinct to protect, especially to protect females for they are more valuable to society.
We have stories of women raped at NHS hospitals in female only wards by trans-women. We have stories of penises on display in women's changing rooms. We have stories of girls raped in school toilets by a trans student. I am sure there are so many other examples of where a story needs to be told. But I would be very careful in overplaying specific stories that do not result in the required levels of empathy. The safeguarding of prisoners does not generate public empathy for they are criminals and should be punished. Of course, no one thinks the punishment should be rape, but the empathy level is still low. Also, avoid representing women as weak and pathetic to make a point. I have heard women argue that they need single-sex toilets in nightclubs so they can flee to a safe space when they attract unwanted male attention. This is pathetic and damaging to the reputation of women.
To sum up, I am pro-woman but anti-feminist. I understand the need for single-sex spaces to protect women from a tiny number of dangerous male perverts. The fact that these individuals may or may not be trans is irrelevant.
This battle can be won. It will just take a majority of women to be willing to step forward to be counted. Once this happens, the majority of men will be happy to take back our role of protector, which includes throwing men out of female-only spaces. But for this to happen, women need to sort themselves out first.
Ignore trans-women, ignore trans activists and definitely ignore progressive feminists – you cannot change their minds. Focus on the women who do not know or understand what is taking place in their name. Bring them into the fold and victory will surely follow.
