2021 was a good year for me, especially after the annus horribilis of 2020. I also think it was a good year for the country in terms of the culture war that is still fracturing society. In the history books, they will state this invisible war became visible to the general populace in 2021. The beginning of the end of the woke wars.
This was the year when the British people sat up and said 'No' to wokery. Throughout the year more and more people started to push back. As the year proceeded, the woke backtracked, changed their ways, or completely collapsed. Wokery is a super-tanker, it takes time to turn around – but it is most definitely changing course.
The dark lord of LGBTQQIP2SAA wokery is Stonewall. It has been a real pleasure to watch their house of cards fall apart, as one company after another rejects them. Stonewall are out of business, they just don't know it yet.
The year ended on a high. The marvellous Harry Miller left the Court Of Appeal after he had destroyed the concept and recording of Non-Crime-Hate-Incidents. This practice is now officially illegal. The police can no longer check your thinking and record your perceived hate on your criminal record as if you have committed a real crime. We all owe Harry a huge debt of gratitude for he has guaranteed our freedom for the short term. The rest of the fight is down to us all.
2021 started well for me. I was invited to speak at the Oxford Union, but Covid ruined the experience by forcing it online instead of in the debating hall of this amazing university. The debate was on cancelling cancel culture, my side won the day. I also debated the same topic at Exeter University a few months later. Two for two. Not bad for a council estate kid who never went into higher education.
In the spring, I challenged Andy Burham to be Mayor of Greater Manchester. I was angry he had run our police force into the ground and it had been placed into special measures. I could have just moaned about the situation, but that's not my style.
The political campaign was fun, I really enjoyed myself. There was no pressure on me for I was an outsider standing for the newly created Reform UK party. Defying the national Labour trend, Burham romped to victory with an increased majority. He had spent his first term as mayor doing nothing but managed to be on TV at every opportunity, his strategy to be re-elected paid off. To be fair, he is not one of the Labour lunatics and comes across well – he can probably define what a woman is if asked.
Covid had ruined my plans to wed in July. Some venues were not taking bookings, others had a backlog. So we decided to go small and booked a slot in the local register office in November. A twelve-year courtship ended – married life began. It was a special day. She's a lucky lady!
A couple of days later, my first ever book was published. It sold out on Amazon on the first day! How many copies they held in stock I do not know, but it was a thrill to see the 'sold out' message on the page. Lessons In Courage is a journey into personal responsibility to avoid cowardice. I explore how I beat cancel culture and what you can do to be a little braver. I lay out 10 lessons to make you formidable.
Nothing of value is easy to attain. For if it was it would not be valuable and worthy of pursuit. We need to work hard, sometimes even fight for it. This is what we have to do if we want to save our country from the woke, who are just useful idiots of our enemies.
Make 2022 the year you start to be braver, the year you start to politely push back against the things you know are wrong. Not the things I tell you are wrong, but the things you already know are wrong. Do not be a puppet, not even mine. You have common sense, trust yourself.
Protect what you have. We do not need martyrs sacrificed on the woke alter, so protect yourself. This is not a get out of jail card for you to do nothing and wait for others to fight on your behalf. Pick your battles, fight from the sidelines, or be anonymous like many superheroes. There is always opportunities to push back safely - but pushback you must.
Welcome the new year with a smile for there is nothing else you can do. A new year is a fresh start. Take this annual opportunity to start to improve your life. Accept your own personal responsibility. Reject any sense of victimhood, and be the captain of your destiny.
If you can create a better version of yourself then your life automatically improves, and so do all the lives around you. Be the gift to your family and friends that gives all year round.
